Advice Asking in general !!!

Hm, dont realy know where to start writing this as some will always read it the opposit then it was meant to be.

1. We give support for a software in development, With that comes errors, can you please post in one or several directions where you see we have not done this ?

2. We cant teach you how to use all softwares out there, you have to learn some by reading up on simple HTML, we dont provide that kind of support, we provide a software that can HANDLE html, php and it's up to you how to take it from there, not up to us to builöd your sites with every bit of content you want in it.  Kind of a lego box, they provide you with the blocks to build something, but it's really up to you to build the item you got. Offcourse with help from sketch that have 1. 2. 3 and so on guidance, We have exactly that here to, and we have it in the doc board, and in the forum.

3. We dont support other mods, we support TP mod as that is wht this site is all about, daily we still give some support when we see someone that needs it and we find the time to.
Still there are a few members that never will be satisfied with this, they want more, they want it free, and if they dont get it, we are the bad guys.
Bloc puts in about 30 hours a day on TP, every little free time he have, he does this to give you somehting.
The team here ( and some members) do the same with support, we give so much from our selfs and we try to go through every single post and sort out whats the most needed support topc, who needs our help the most, who have a NEW error that we havent seen before ?
We make the prioritey in these directions, and when we do, offcourse some members get left out according to them, but from a simple search, or just a simple reading in the boards and topics, they have the answers infront of them right there.

Still you think we are bad at support, still there will be members "scared" to ask for help.

platinumUWE, you have PMed me several times on my support given, cant say you have PMd any one else in here, but really, if you are so unhappy with the way we do things here, i really cant understand that you are here at all, beats me totally.
When you PM or post, it's just to complain about something we ( or should i say ME G6 ) cause there are a few that seem to be chasing me for every little thing they can find, thats why i respond to this now, cause this has to stop here.

If you dont have anything good to post about what we have here, then simply dont post, we dont have to defend what we give here on free time for no pay, if you were a paying customer, you would have that right, but your not.
We tent to members that NEED it the most, if they get stuck and their forum breaks, we from the team asks them to give us their accounts, and we go in and fix it for them, tell me any other forum team that have that support ?
Cant even count every one i have heled in here to get and give them what they ask, not to mention how many times we have written the same answers to the same questions.

Free software, i think we can expect some effort from members that ask questions we have answerd so may times before.
The team goes through every single post, every single question, where we think someone needs the extra hel and attention, and that the answers may be hard to find, we care extra for that member just because we ask the others to work for what they want to have.
We simply cant provide a school where we teach how to work with HTML or PHP, there are several great sites with forums that provide that info.
The time WE have, we want to give to the members that needs it the most.
It's just that simple. And if some members are not happy with that, they simply dont belong in here and we will not loose any sleep over it, cause we know we do what we can, we help where we can, and we do it cause we love it.

i think it all comes down to searching.. surely most people know how to put information in, say for example google.. you in put the term/phrase what ever, and if you don't get results your expecting, then re phrase it.. there are a million ways to search.. you just have to keep trying.. without trying to help yourself, how do you expect to do anything??

yes it takes reading and interreacting with people, no matter how they treat you.. that goes for the team here and for the new users..

yes Ken lol i do agree with you too on making replies user friendly, that does help a lot, but i also know that time is limited, for the help here, and that new or regular users, want the info right then and there.. that would be nice in a perfect world, but this is the net, and its what you make of it..

you can turn a ant hill into a mountain, or you could take baby steps and make the mountain into an ant hill.. its all how you look at things..

i have grown so much, just by being around, asking questions, and yes have heard plenty of "no Smoky" but i am here, i always will be, and the thing is, I do understand.. sometimes.. if not, then i figure out what has me stumpted, and try to ask in a way that will make myself clear and easy to understand, if not i know that "no Smoky" response is what i get.. and btw, no isnt in my text lmao!!!

thanks to everyone here that has helped me learn and to grow as a person, im now ready to start a new domain.. so keep your eyes peeled for me.. i may yet surprise us all :coolsmiley: ..

and this is the point im trying to make, G6.. that the help is free, most here are on limited time, but i think tp is doing very well, common curesty goes a long way, it has been given here, for everyone to talk, most support sites i have been on too (ken you following me?? ) lol spazz out on the topics i have seen posted here.. just keep up the good work (tp crew)

that is part of g6 reply, and i was here to learn and yes i pmed u 2 times asking for help if i remember correctly.

just the sort of answer that makes u feel so welcome and at home, like u said and made plain g6 u dont like people who ask questions.

Platinum, that isnt true, G6 is and does try to help people out.. she has helped me, and i know others, she isnt picking on you at all.. i can see where you both are coming from.

here is the thing Platinum, and you are a sweet guy, but listen, sometimes things that are asked in pm should be asked on the forum, so that others can learn too.. you see my point?? that is why there are threads here for that.. if you pm'd her and i did and say 20 other people did, she would never get out her box at all.. i know, it happens to me too.. and on my site as well and its not a tp or smf/tp help  site..

thing is, there is limited tijme to answer everyone, specially with g6 working hard at her job, and well everyone is taking time out to help others.. they do not have to. not at all

if you dont like how your answer is given, if you are uncomfortable in any way, then yes i see her point that you are free to go elsewhere.. there are tons of sites that do help, you and i both know this.. why take time out and keep up a dead agrument?? thats what this is.. if it werent for the forum being here, and just the jmod given out, there will be a ton of lost puppies here..

But it seems that now its turned into just a personal attack on G6 and that is not OK so this topic is locked.

Not support at all, you asked about my support and you told me that my support was bad and that you had worked for a lot of years with support your slef..

One thing i have learned is to save all PMs, i can show them so everyone can read what you PMd me about.

This is going nowhere, you have made your point, i tried to give the answers on how we do things, Smoky did the same, and as you only got one line out of everything i dont see that this will benefit TP or anyone else.

Topic is locked, if you have a complain about that, please contact Bloc or IchBin and ask them to unlok it for you.
