Hey,
ive been having extreemly wierd issues with the formatting of text spat out by the AplosRTE editor, while looking into his i realised one thing, the data being stored in the mysql DB in the `tportal_articles` is not only having
tags in it but it also has newlines in it at random which seems to be parsed by TinyPortal / SMF is there an option to either edit the article without having AplosRTE interfeering or is there a way to strip all the \n's out of the data before it goes into the mysql DB!
Cheers JonasNZ

NightOwl

This can be work around with using Opera.

JonasNZ

What difference does that make?
because as far as i can tell its actaully the way that the data is taken from AplosRTE and stored in the mysql db!

Bjørn

I am working on a solution for this, it should have been stored without \n in the first place.

I will release a new version when this is looked at, together with a few other small issues.

JonasNZ

Cool, looking forward to it, oh and BTW i noticed that your shoutblock doesnt check throught xhtml standards, you need to change the & in the urls to & took me so long to figure out!
I would post a fixed version but ive modded mine too much :P

I mean you can fix those mis-placement by using opera. Since opera doesn't use the editor, you need to do the html yourself. Or just copy the raw data from the AplosTRE editor and paste into the Opera input window. That is how I fix those annoying behaviours of AplosRTE.

Annoying behaviours of AplosRTE = annoying line-breaks unexpected which screw the placement of the article.

JonasNZ

i get ya!
Bloc, you should add an option to do raw html editing!
Btw im looking at how to fix that thing now so ill post sumthing if i have sumthing to post!

NightOwl

BTW, if the re-inputing with Opera doesn't work. You need to delete the article first and start with a new one.

Bjørn

Yeah, just using the textfield without the editor is an option i will add.

JonasNZ

Yeah as far as i can tell the line break stuff is ok, there is now sumthing else i have noticed, sumwhere along the way between submiting the editied article, (regardless of using AplosRTE or Plain Text it seems to strip out sum html, ive been trying to put iframes in, so that i could view another page from inside the smf site but it screws the code up, so i have to do it manually in the db.
