Great. The baulky browser made me think the browser was waiting on a lengthy install process that could time out, but from what you are saying that should never be a problem.

I'm complete. Thanks again.

I use Fantastico. Fantastico upgraded me to SMF 1.1.3. I just had to remove the old TP_0983.zip from /Packages then upload the newest TP_0983.zip I got from here. Logged into SMF, clicked Admin, clicked Packages, clicked Apply Mod for Tiny Portal... it installed.

Everything works great. Nice work TP team!
Thank you for this great portal.

It turns out that there are two versions of the mod file TP_0983.zip in people's hands. The difference is in the files both called package-info.xml. The old one is dated March 17, 2007 and the current one is dated June 26, 2007.

With all due respect, it would not be hard to help people from being confused about this. A brief explanation on the download page next to the file TP_0983.zip might state that the file was changed on June 26 to fix the installation, and there are is no change to the files that are installed, but if you have the older version and need to reinstall, be sure to download the fixed version. The bottom line, be sure to tell people what they need to know.

The good news is, of course, that the actual file (when you get it) works like a dream! Thanks again.

There are only one TP Package in the download section that works with the package manager, the other one is the manuall install package.
We have pointed out that the full package have been replaced with an update and for members to clear their cache and temp internet files to get the updated package.

Make sure that YOU dont have an older package on your PC that you accidently upload to the package manager instead of the newer version, cause in the downloads here on this site, there is only one package for the manager available.

There is an explanation actually in the download. The problem is, the downloads need to be changed to reflect the download comments which aren't done yet. :) Will work on this though. Thanks!
