Sorry for the bump of an old topic, but i just started working with the SMF and i experienced some probs with how i want the page and the board to look.

My System is like that:

On SMF i use "Alienation11final" as theme.
The bridge is configured to wrap the board. User stats and information is shown inside the login-component of joomla, so i don't need the sidebox with all that stuff.

If i use the modification from here, the menu will always be unshrinked. I want to hide the menu for everyone and for ever. But it seems i don't have enough knowledge to do it myself. Any hints?

What do you mean by "hide the menu for everyone and for ever"? Never have it display? Totally get rid of it? Just turn the block off.

I try to remove the code already and it work perfectly.  The button is disappear.  And i remove the javascript too.

The only problem is i try this.  When the right bar is shrinked, and i remove all the button code include the javascript, and i refresh my page, the right bar will never show up again. 

what is the problem?

The cookie has already been set. As I stated in my other topic that is a side affect of this happening. You might be able to add this code to your index.template.php in the right where you removed the javascript.
