Hi,

Thank you for reading my post, I hope I find a solution to my problem here.
I'm pretty new to using SMF & TP, so simpler the instructions the better.

I want to setup a forum site for my church's website and had downloaded and installed SMF 1.13. However I felt SMF didn't have enough features that I needed so I looked around and found Tiny Portal.

I followed the instructions to upload TP, Admin>Packages>Download Package>Package to Upload.
The test went well, nothing failed and it said installed successfully.

I then went to download a new TP theme, went with the Bloc TPstyle11.
I did a manual install and then went to theme settings and set my new default theme to TPstyle11.

Everything looked fine except i noticed on the bottom that I had 6 pages of fatal errors.

Here's one of the msgs, i'm not sure if i need to post all of the errors, if i do please let me know.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tportal_version() in /home/content/q/p/e/qpem2007/html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1726) : eval()'d code on line 276

Also I noticed that on the bottom of my main page where it lists what version of SMF i am using, it doesn't mention anything about TinyPortal. Which makes me wonder did TinyPortal ever get installed on my site. If I check my ftp server under packages I see the zip file of the TP install. Now, might sound a stupid question but do I have to unzip the file in the packages folder or is it ok to leave it since I ran it through the package tool in Admin and it ran successfully?

Also a side question regarding mods, if a theme requires a mod or another file to be loaded do I just manually install it to the 'theme_name' folder on my ftp site or does it go somewhere else?

I hope I wasn't too confusing...

Would appreciate any help or input.

Thanks!

You have installed the wrong theme version.
If you uninstall the theme from the themes and layout settings in your admin panlel, and then download and install this version of the same theme, you will see tinyportal.
TinyPortal need to have TP converted themes in order to work.

I will try that link. However it looks like the same file I downloaded previously.

I noticed in my package tab that under Mod Packages I have:

1.Tinyportal version 0.983 listed.

Does this mean that tinyportal was not installed?

When i tried clicking the Apply Mod button I get an error message:

Database Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /home/content/q/p/e/qpem2007/html/forum/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 2883Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/content/q/p/e/qpem2007/html/forum/Sources/Load.php
Line: 2005
Warning: Unknown(): A session is active. You cannot change the session module's ini settings at this time. in Unknown on line 0

Does this having anything to do with the fact that in mywebaddress/forums/packages the Tinyportal package is still in a zip file?

I have the same problem... i just installed that bloc...

and im getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tportal_version() in .../smf/Sources/Load.php(1726) : eval()'d code on line 276

however, the block manager doesnt appears, though...

if you can help me...
here you can see http://minvelst.dyndns.org/cls_php/forum/smf/ beneath in the end the error...

i think so

if you enter that site you'll see above the tinyportal banner...

thanks

You DONT have tinyportal installed, you just installed a tinyportal theme.
You need to actually HAVE tinyportal mod installed before you can use the themes for the same

Crip

Not on your default theme, you can't use a TP Theme without installing  TP 1st

....TP_Style Theme is only for TP, there is not a SMF version.
