Hi All,
I have just discovered tiny portal and i am a huge fan!

What i wanted to ask is if it is possible to change the adds displayed by google adsense in the forum. At the moment all i get is some standard "  CSS Border, PHP MySQL, PHP Tutorial, ASP PHP" adds.
The forum i have has sections about cars, university stuff, etc and i was wondering how i can make the adds more appropriate to the content i am providing.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rich

As far as I know you aren''t allowed to change or modifiy the ads in any way, form or shape. Doing such a thing it will result in a ban from the adsense programe

Hi, thanks for your reply babjusi. I was not wanting to change the add code itself.

On a simple HTML webpage, the adds will adjust themselves to the content that is being displayed. So if the site is talking about cars then the adds displayed will be about cars.

How do i allow the google adsense spider read the actual content of the page instead of php/smf/generic forum stuff.
Basically, how do i get google to display more interesting adds!

Thanks All

Metatags.

I believe that by default, they read something like this:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<meta name="description" content="Post reply" />
<meta name="keywords" content="PHP, MySQL, bulletin, board, free, open, source, smf, simple, machines, forum" />

Change the "keywords" line, to match what your website's about.

key words yes.. and as important, the Description. This is what people will see when they google the title of you're website.
Mine is simply:
Metal, Alternative, Rock Radio. 128kbps and 64kbps Shoutcast Streams. Join us in the forums.

I need to update that as it's a bit naff.

sorry to be a kill joy, I have already tried this. Changed all the keywords to more appropriate tags and it had no effect on the adds.

Thanks for trying guys!

Google Ads reflect what is on the current page.
If the Home Page has lots of key words about cars, engines.. blah blah.. it will reflect that content.
I have a YouTube video page... when I view that page with the blocks, I get ads about video, movies etc.

You also need to give Google time to index you're pages properly. Google states themselves that appropriate content is not instant.
