I currently have my SMF running fine on 1.1.1 (package manager shows no mods installed or packages installed), however whilst package manager will upload TP 0.97 fine as well as give me the "Apply Mod" option, it then gives me an error of "the file is corrupted or not compatible with this SMF version?" when I try to apply the mod. Once this has occured the only options available to me are List Files, Delete.

I have tried to replace and rebuild the zip file package using the xml which was listed above as a .txt file but my SMF reports that "The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted." I am using the latest Winzip so not sure if that is related to the problem, although I did replace the existing XML in a copy of the original TP 0.97 with the file which had the .txt as above but renamed as XML, but I still get a message about corruption or not valid with this SMF.

I am sure I am missing something simple in getting it to apply, all my pages are working fine, but the TP mod just wont either upload or will upload and not apply..

You should have installed TP097 1st, then apply the SMF 111 patch, however there is away around this but I do not know where the code is or placed..maybe you should do a [Search] for it.?

There was a thread on this which had all what I mentioned I had tried listed, however after initially posting a reply to that, I then couldnt find the original thread in the section again - probably just me being silly, also I think the thread I found was under TP Support and development, which didnt seem right as it was an install issue.
If you can pop the link to the original thread here I can check it out, but I didnt know you had to put TP in first before upgrading to 1.1.1.

I have looked through all messages in the thread mentioned and followed the steps however I still get the message about the package being corrupted etc.
Basically I downloaded the XML replacement file supplied which had all the changes to include 1.1.1., replaced that file in the original 0.97 zip package file, reset my forum to the default non-TP-theme, removed all existing TP themes, then tried to apply the TP 0.97 package which had the replacement XML file, however I am still getting the package corrupt error message when I try to install it via package manager.

I couldn't get it to work either, but it has nothing to do with what version of winzip you're using.  Instead of pulling my hair and trying to get the auto-install to work properly I just manually installed it.  :)

Is that just a case of taking the manual install files, unzipping them, uploading them to the server, then replacing the XML file with the one that is avail to download? If so, then it should be easy to do this. I have had a support guy from here trying to resolve it on my forum, he thinks its permissions, but I havent changed any permissions on my forum since its initial install, but my package manager refuses to upload the file saying its corrupt etc, but I cant seem to find what file/folder is giving the problem as my error logs dont show any errors.

You're right about the manual install files.. It's so easy, you just download > unzip > upload. But then you need to modify several php files!  Don't stop reading now, all hope is not lost: If you have no mods or anything you can just download > unzip > upload and overwrite all files with this handy zip: http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=11547.0 (after you already upload the initial manual file-set and ran the sql script)  - Thus avoiding having to mod any php files yourself.  Almost makes it like an auto install, with just a few extra steps :)

Are you running on linux?  you may not be chowned properly.  I had this problem with joomla, smf, and subdreamer where installations would put the owner as httpd instead of me thus causing problems when I needed to make changes via ftp.  That's something worth checking, but you may need to contact your host and ask them to re-chown your entire website to you.
