Then i think you might want to check the permissions to your files.
You said you followed the steps coorectly, so whats left is the permissions to the files.
Check that you have the correct permissions to the packages folder (777 or 755) and the file in them to

Is this for me? - out of interest I did check the packages folder, it was 750, I have changed it to 755, but still get same error. Then I tried 777 but this has made no difference. The upgrade to 1.1.1. from 1.1.RC3 went fine with no errors, the other option would be to reinstall the full 1.1.1. package over the top. If you think that is too drastic I could give you admin rights to the forum.

@Ryatzu - you either have a permission error or an incorrect path to your forum.

@ccwking - my suggestion would be to delete all the zip files from your /Packages directory, upload the SMF 1.1.1 raw files overwriting your existing files (except for the Settings.php file), install TP 097 as though it were never there in the first place, reinstall your other mods

Ok, so far I have removed all files inside the Packages folder except Temp and Backup (both subdirectories are empty)
I have also copied all files from the full 1.1.1. install except settings etc across to the server. Forum is still running fine on 1.1.1. I am still getting the same error on the package upload function.

Then the only thing left for you to do is going for the manuall install.
Download the manual install package, upload all the files from the package and then download the premade files zip file, from the installations board and upload them to, then point your browser to the manual_tp_install.php and refresh your forum

Just so I dont get this wrong, download the manual 1.1.1 install of SMF, upload all files in the package, download the TP 0.97 with the modified TP XML file, then run the manual_tp_install?

Thurnok

No, your SMF install should be ok now, just the manual install of TP with modified XML.

But, before you do that, if you want, I can take a quick peek at your site - PM me a temporary admin id/password if you want me to take a quick look.

One of the reasons why I like SMF and TP is that it "just worked" for those of us who do not do code etc..

Spent two hours on trying to make this work.. tried to do the suggestions...

my work here is over..

StanJ

I just reread that and it came across rude to me...

What I meant is that i can not do anything more until there is a fix..

Thurnok

np StanJ - TP 0.9.8 is in the works.  Of course, there are no scheduled release dates for any versions, but I'm sure Bloc will release it as soon as it is ready and has been well tested.
