Hi everybody..

Have you felled in love with FireFox as your web browser and then getting pissed when you access sites that say IE only  :knuppel2: Well sit back and relax now there is a small plug-in that makes FireFox 100% compatible with any IE only sites and also work proper at windows update so now you never need IE any more, maybe just for testing purpose...  :D

You can download and read a small step by step tutorial on how here

I hope you will enjoy this plug-in

Thanks for using Opera ;) then you are supporting our Norwegian Web Browser ....he he But you do have the same problems there to? or do it work 100% with sites that render only in IE?

I got this error message from windows update

Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.

To use this site, you must be running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or later.

To upgrade to the latest version of the browser, go to the Internet Explorer Downloads website.

If you prefer to use a different web browser, you can obtain updates from the Microsoft Download Center or you can stay up to date with the latest critical and security updates by using Automatic Updates. To turn on Automatic Updates:

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

I think clicking install from the extention page is a lot easier.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

I use this extention religiously as we use the gawd awful SharePoint and Exchange for webmail. Exchange is good though. About the only decent product MS has produced.

akulion

whenever i hit a site which says use IE

I just say fudge it (unless its a critical update)

Im the same as akulion , i just wouldnt be bothered going onto a IE only site. I use automatic update so i dont usualy visit microsofts site.

There's another extension called user-agent switcher I think. You can change the user-agent of your browser to make the site your visiting think that you are actually using IE. Thats how I solved the IE problem. :) With IE tab, you still have to use IE only in the firefox shell.

The user-agent switch doesn't work with Exchange OWA and SharePoint. Opera has this feature built in as well and doesn't work either.
