PM Messaging...what the!

Just got an email from a user about the PM messaging.  Pointing to mydomain.com he first gets a blank white screen, then a popup about messages.  It is a Microsoft popup in IE and an unnamed popup in FF.  If you select yes it then goes to mydomain.com and the PM screen is up in IE, in FF the homepage is up.

Is there a way to make the PM notifications after the site loads?  It would look alot less like something is wrong.  The kind of popups now look like those trouble/diagnostic things the browser puts up. 

Or... it this just a problem I'm having?

I believe he is talking about when you have email notification turned on for recieving PM's.
If you go to a SMF site, and have checked the option to open PM's in a new/seperate window ; when you get to the site, a window pops-up and asks if you want your PM to open in a new window.

My best advice is to turn this feature off.

I wouldn't have thought under themes, but...

/themes and layout settings/reset options/

This is a tricky screen it doesn't tell you what values you have.  If you know what each option actually does then you're OK with it. 

It might help to have a little box with the current value and what it means in close proximity to each box, or something like that.  You're really taking a shot in the dark as a newbie to the bloc themes/TP.

What are you talking about? There is text that tells you what it does. Mine says exactly this right next to the checkbox.
