I successfully installed SMF 1.1 RC3.  I successfully installed the Helios 1.1 RC3 theme.  I downloaded TP_095beta.  I know I need to switch back to the default theme and use the package manager to upload the package and install TP.

Here's my question (and please don't shoot me... I'm new... I read the FAQ... I searched before posting):  Do I need to upload the files for TP to my server first?  Or do I just need to download it to my local computer?  And what file do I point to for installation?  The Zip file or a certain file within the zip file?

This is probably very obvious... but I'm missing this for some reason!!!  My forum is www.factorsofseven.com/forum

Download the zip package file to your local PC, and then use the SMF package manager to install it :)
As Tp is a MOD to SMF , the package manager will do the install for you. So just browse to the TP zip file when you have downloaded it from our downloads and upload the zip through the package manager and click on install :)

And you are correct, you have to use SMF default theme during the install

Thanks for the quick reply and the clarification!

In themes and layouts... do I just change the overall forum default to SMF Default Theme - Core... or do I reset everyone to "Forum Default"?

I'm thinking the first... but I don't want to mess up... this is first clean install I've had  :)

You just set the forum to use SMF Default Core, thats what the installer will look at when you use the package manager :)

I want to add that you can remove your other themes compleatly ( just saving the themes that comes with SMF), you will have to replace them any way to TP enabled themes when you have installed TP.
http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=cat410 is where you find the themes you can download and install after you have installed TP

Glad you got every thing sorted :)
