When I try to install this via the package manager I get an error on the index.template file, I read somwehere that you could install a template made by Bloc then apply the mod.

Are there any themes that are compatible with SMF RC 1.1?

IchBin

If you get an error on your index.template file that is most likely caused by a mod or something that has modified that file. Technically I think you can go ahead and install as long as you have a TP theme. Although, don't blame me if something breaks. :) Please make a backup before doing so.

Is it only index.template that matters? I have "users online "today on mine, but I dont mind overwriting it with an origonal copy before installing on the main site. Am I correct to assume then that the files that have been changed for seperating sticky and normal topics, and seperating members and guests in "Who's Online" wont matter much?

Or would I be better to install a complete new set of default files and starting over with the Mods?

IchBin

That's up to you if you want your default theme to work or not. I'm not sure if it will throw you an error if you replace the index.template.php file considering you have that mod installed. What I would do is make a copy of the default theme to my hard drive, then replace that copy with a fresh new one. Then install TinyPortal. Then, if you still want the who's online mod I would try to install that after. :)

I think the problem was that my default theme files are at beta3?

gerrymo

Ichbin, I'll actually do a full backup of the whole SMF directory and the database before I touch anything. Made the mistake of not doing it once before, and ended up with one of the guys from SMF going in to fix it for me. Valuable lesson learned there. The mods on the site are not important at this point. Getting TP working, and adding in the Static Page mod are the parts that I'll do first, the rest is not impotant to the site (nice, but not really neccessary)

IchBin

Sounds good gerrymo. Let us know if you have any questions or problems.

Ghostfreak, I think Bloc has already made Helios for RC1.
