Does anybody understand iTunes and Quicktime?

For some strange reason, I am not able to get into iTunes anymore.  A window pops up that says Quicktime has failed to load because it is already running.  That happens when I click on iTunes.  It also happens when I click on Quicktime.

I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but nothing works.

Does anybody have any ideas about how to fix it?

WSA

I have also gone into my task manager but I don't see it running to end the process.

goto start...run and goto mscofig and hit enter, go to the startup tab and un check qttask then restart and try that

msconfig.

Go to startup, uncheck qttask and reboot. Then see what happens.

I know pork, but you said mscofig, not msconfig. I didn't know if he realized it was misspelled....
