I tried to install the TP mod through the package manager, that seemed to have worked since it said the mod was installed succesfully but nothing changed. No files were created on the ftp either. I went to search this forum and got the tip to manually install the mod. Now when I run tp_install.php, I get this error:

Warning: mysql_query(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /hsphere/local/home/anastaci/myurl.net/tp_install.php on line 16

Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /hsphere/local/home/anastaci/myurl.net/tp_install.php on line 16

Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks!

Hard to say what is causing you not to connect to the database. It may be permissions or something. Is your smf forum having any problems?

Well, I did notice that none of the mods I installed had any effect.

Ok, never mind me and my noobness, I used a theme which I thought was for TP, but I actually installed the regular SMF version. All works fine now.

I think that is the most common thing here, even we in the team have made that one time or an other.
Glad you sorted it out
