Hey folks,

I've been delving into SMF/TP's code and making some internal modifications to fit some rather specific needs of my site.  Thusfar I have done no deletion of code, but I cannot be entirely certain that I will not ever need to.  My concern, as the title would imply, lies in updating of SMF/TP to more recent versions.  Are there any tips for writing code modifications that withstand SMF/TP updates?  Do I even need to worry about it?

Thanks,
Mahtan

IF Bloc needs to update the files with some new ones because he has altered the code you will not be able to keep the same files because they will get replaced. The simple answer is no I think. You'll have to modify them again if you update and the files are updated also.
