Over the weekend I upgraded SMF from 1.16 to 2.02 and upgraded TP to the current version (can't remember what it was before).  Because I was having trouble with categories, I just dropped all the previous TP tables and reinstalled everything from scratch.

I have created two new HTML articles with some test content and assigned them to the "general articles" category.  But when I try to view one using http://www.(mysite).com/index.php?page=2, there's nothing in it. Article 1 has the same problem.

What am I doing wrong?  This site was shut down for about 18 months, and I'm just now restarting it, so I'm probably a little rusty.  I have a feeling I'm missing a configuration or permissions issue.

TP version: 1.106 (correction)

TP 1.052? That would have to have been a version from quite a long time ago. Any reason you can't update to the latest TP? The latest package version is 1.106 (public version number TP1 RC4).

jerri blank,

Obviously, this issue is rendered a little more difficult due to the problems you are having with Norton Safe Web since we can't actually access your site to help you there.  However, we can do the following.  One of us can setup your article on one of our test sites to see if we are seeing the issue that you are having.  First of all, let me ask you a couple of questions ...

1.  I assume that you are the main Admin on your site (?action=profile;u=1).  Is that correct?
2.  After you have created the article, when you try to edit the article, does it show that the article is "Approved:"?

If both of these answers are "yes", and you have actually upgraded TinyPortal to the latest version as Ichbin suggested, please attach the code you are using in the article to your next post here using the code tags (#) so that one of us can look at the code to see if there might be any problems with the actual html code you are using.

DUH - I figured out the problem.  The articles were in a category that was visible only to guests.  Responding to ZarPrime's request indirectly led me to the solution.  Thanks!

Aha, yep that would do it. ;) I'm glad you figured it out but you should still upgrade to the latest version of TinyPortal as the internal version that you have is indeed an old version, as Ichbin mentioned, and probably has some bugs in it that you will discover.  In any case, I'll mark this topic solved. I should mention that I misstated my TP version before - it is indeed the latest.  Thanks again!
