You have to understand that when people waltz in and start telling us what we should be doing we get a little upset ?  Wouldn't you ?

How much PHP do you know ?  You said elsewhere you had been programming for 4.5 years in PHP, but what's your level ?  You didn't seem to know how single quotes worked in another thread...

To be honest I don't care at all if you have been doing PHP from birth, we just need to know your level of understanding so that we know how to help you.  You see I don't want to waste time explaining how quotes work when someone already knows....

Anyway, peace, let's not get all flamed up here.  Just try to see things from our perspective too and we will all get along nicely.

1) Well that club sucks. doesn't it. LOL
2) No because that would be an idea to update your code, Right, Then you wouldn't have these other problems. Right ?, ever time you fount a bug or some thing miss type. (I know, It's a pain) and then fixed it. and then uploaded it. Then every time some one else download it. They won't be posting topics about the same issue all the time and then it will save you time. Look. I'm not telling you how to do things. It was only a comment on your bug fixing.
3) Well I don't know what why level would be, Since when it comes to CMS, I have no level on that. CMS, like forums and so on treat code different. That's why it was hard. Like when I tried to get the $smcFunc to work, and never could. I had to do this the way I know how. the code may be older code. It works.
4) It's like I said. I lot of times my code gets debug by trail and error. so it takes a long time. I have to figure things out on my own. It's not fun
5) Yes I agree with you. There's nothing wrong with that.  It just I have has a hard time getting people to under stand me and I have a hard time under standing them

Let me get a word in here before this ends. lol

First of all if I updated the code for every bug I'd probably be at TinyPortal 1.0 RC145 ... There's a reason why beta's and RC versions of software exist. It's the process that it takes to get the software to a stable final release. It's a lot of work fixing bugs, and it's a lot of work releasing a new version. I'm finding less time to do this work as the days go by. I'd much rather follow the standards put in place when working on software. It helps me devote the time that I have into fixing it properly. I've never seen any software company release stuff every time they fix a problem. That's why companies like Microsoft have a monthly release if necessary, or service packs. I realize it's a lot of work on your end, but hey I'd much rather be fixing up a site than fixing bugs in software if you ask me.

Most peoples problems with searching is that they don't know how to search. For instance, it's often better to use quotes around the line you are seeking when searching for an error. This way SMF doesn't try to search for the single word, but the whole phrase.

Maybe you weren't trying to come off ungrateful, but that's the way it sounds to most of us from what I'm reading. Just remember this is our free time we spend on this. And yes, I'm the only person that fixes bugs in the TP software right now. The other guys do as much support and testing as possible on their free time. RC3 is coming along, and without any major bugs found by the beta testers I'm hoping to have another release in the next couple of weeks that should fix all the previous bugs that have been posted about since  RC2.
