Tried the install on the curve theme, tried each of the latest TP installs.
TinyPortal1RC1_1.zip   
TinyPortal1_RC2.zip
Neither will finish the install.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm guessing you are upgrading from SMF1 to SMF2 with TP installed previously?
