Block Ok: http://www.eojmarket.com
Block not so Ok: http://www.myu2sig.com/forum/

First and foremost, the current SMF version and TP version can be found in my sig. It's the same on both sites, so no need to go... but hey thats only for the one site eojmarket.com.

Any way, the block in question is the top left one with the PSN status image display. Notice how on eojmarket there's no scroll bar while on myu2sig.com/forum/ there is. Any ideas what might be causing this as everything from the SMF version to the TP version and even the theme as well as the block settings are the same ?

I widended the block and even added some breaks to test something but the scrolls still there on the one site so I have no idea what gives. I even removed the images from both and did soemthing like Testing 1, 2, 3... but the scrolls still there on the one site for text that's no where close to the full width of the block.

It's an IE bug...I assume that is the browser you are using.  I get that with a lot of things.  It shows fine in Chrome.

What you could do is use the CSS rule :

overflow: hidden;

Either in your style sheet or perhaps you could put your block in a container div and use the style attribute.  Not sure which would work but that's what you need to be doing.

For sakee of argument, as said before one sites ok hile the other is now so shouldnt they mirror eachother in that regard ?

If you are using IE8 to view the sites.  Are you viewing one with the browser in compatibility mode, and one without??

Scroll bars disappear in compatibility mode when I view those links.  Both sites have the scroll bar when not in compatibility mode for me. ;)

That actually hit the nail right on the head lol... and yes I am using IE8. I know IE has it's quirks but I'm a fan of it.

On that note, rather another note. How would I apply overflow: hidden; to specific blocks ?

I remember someone saying something about block specific CSS once but forgot how to do it. I think it was something like.

18.???{
overflow: hidden;
}

Where 18 is the block number.

The css would be:

#block18
{
css attributes here
}

The number 18 being the id number of the block. If you use firebug for firefox or even the development tools that come with IE8+ you can see any id or class on the html.

I tried this for block specifics...

#block31{
   overflow: hidden;
}

Tried this for blocks as a whole, neither worked... I placed it in the tp-style.css inside the default themes folder.

.blockbody{
   overflow: hidden;
}

Edit: And another thing, I have other blocks that don't do this overflow thing at all.
