First off, I was shocked to see the original TP forum closed. I hadn't visited for a while so I didn't see this coming. Not knowing the future of TP now, I would like to uninstall it however I'm getting errors when trying.
I had found another post with the answer ....

That means that you have probably added some other mods after you added TP. You'll need to uninstall other mods to get TP uninstalled. if that doesn't work, then you'll need to manually delete the changes made to those files. OR, if all else fails start with some fresh files.

So I started to uninstall mods but I started getting errors on those too. I'm not confident in manually deleting in fear of breaking my forum & not getting it back.

So my question is what does IchBin mean by 'start with fresh files'?
Does he mean installing a fresh copy of SMF over the top & would that remove TP, all mods & even themes installed?

I'm running SMF 1.1.11
TP 1.0 beta 5-1

The errors when trying to uninstall TP...

1.     Execute Modification     ./index.php     Test failed
2.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Load.php    Test failed
3.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/index.template.php    Test failed
4.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/babylon/index.template.php    Test successful
5.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs.php    Test failed
6.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php    Test successful
7.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Security.php    Test successful
8.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Errors.php    Test successful
9.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/Help.template.php    Test successful
10.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Profile.php    Test successful
11.    Execute Modification    ./SSI.php    Test successful
12.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/BoardIndex.php    Test successful
13.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/QueryString.php    Test successful
14.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs-Post.php    Test successful
15.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Admin.php    Test successful
16.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Post.php    Test successful

Help would be greatly appreciated.

QuoteNot knowing the future of TP now

Bloc has not abandoned TP, he will continue to fix bugs and update it for new versions of SMF.

The only thing that has really changed with the product is that it's unlikely there will be new features added.

Lesmond

Welcome to the TinyPortal Support site, Kassie.

First off let me tell you that Bloc has not finished with TinyPortal, he will continue to work on it until a stable version, and will update it if and when SMF makes any changes, although you will not see him around here  so much.

has for your other question, yes you will need to reinstall all new files, but keep the attachment, avatars, Packages and Smileys folders, plus Settings.php and Settings_bak.php files.

Freddy beat me  :o

Kassie

Thank you Lesmond.
So would I ftp the smf package first & then unzip it to replace the files or is it best to unzip first & then ftp the files. Sorry for all the questions. I just don't want to stuff it up. I'm even having second thoughts on doing it. I'm not that confident. :-[

IchBin

If your control panel has the ability to unzip the file, that would be the best option. Uploading a zip takes much less time than uploading 1700 + files. :)
