Missing some images??

Hi there,

Ive downloaded TP a few days ago, and when i installed it, front page images were missing, just red "x"'d boxes were there.

Ive tried downloading from this website, SMF main site several times. Upon looking through the .zip, the files that are missing are ot actually IN it???

Can anyone help me?

I'm currently having problems with my SMF, so i'm having to revert to an earlier backup, when this is done and TP has been installed again, I will take a few screenshots for you to view. Shouldn't take too long.

This is one I have form before. This is what i tried to explain, but probably failed to do so...

EDIT: ive just scanned thwe .zip again, the files are there, but they dont actually appear on the theme...they are in a "tinyportal" folder.....but sfm cant read from them...perms are set rwerwerwe

You are probably having some pathing issues, right-click an image and click view image info(in firefox) and copy and paste the location here. I am sure that will help resolve the situation.

If you are using a utf8 language, you will see that you need to create that folder and copy the images into it by looking at the path of the file like kro121 suggested.

i'm not using UTF-8 Languages, so I don't know what else to do....Just copy all images in the original .zip into a "/tinyportal" directory?

EDIT: just did, still no difference...
And again:
http://slowlane.co.cc/fast-lane/Themes/default/images/tinyportal/TPcollapse.gif works, but
http://1.2.3.12/bmi/fast-lane.slowlane.co.cc/Themes/default/images/tinyportal/TPcollapse.gif doesnt....but there is nothing at all i can do about that...is there?

Why does the image need to exist in both URL's? The only one that should matter is the one that SMF is looking for. Whatever path and URL that SMF is using, is where the files must exist.

From your screen shot it looks like TP created the file, but the server permission perhaps didn't allow it to create a folder. Hence the reason it looks like a file instead of a folder. Just my guess. If you created the folder in the default/images/ folder for the images, then it should be working. If it is not, please post a link to a page where the images are missing. As of now, the only link I can guess that is your forum is the http://slowlane.co.cc.fast-lane/. On that site, I do not see any missing images.

Maybe i didnt give it time enough to scan the directories again, after creating the folder manually..and waiting for a while, it works.
