When you create a new article the Author line in the editor correctly states like this:

Author:    Vaxxus   Author ID(change to re-assign to another) 2

with

<b><a href="http://www.fraternitas-ferreus.net/forum2/index.php?action=profile;u=2" target="_blank">Vaxxus</a></b>

but after hitting save the "Vaxxus" username gets removed and you only get:

Author:  Author ID(change to re-assign to another) 2

with

<b><a href="http://www.fraternitas-ferreus.net/forum2/index.php?action=profile;u=2" target="_blank"></a></b>

leaving you unable to click the link.

Also front page articles are now missing the "Written by [username]" (because of that?).

You can have a look at it here:

Although I am not using the default theme, I have replicated the error on the standard theme as well.

Only the numeric ID of the user is allowed. So in your case you should simply add the number "2" - nothing more.

tupsi

you misunderstand.
I didnt try to enter/edit anything within the authorid box. I was trying to explain that the link is broken (as text is missing between <a> and </a>) after I hit the save button when creating a new article.

the above text was merely my kind of a text screenshot. I can provide real ones if you still dont get what I am trying to say.

edit: added a screenshot to clarify things.

here is the html of the first screenshot. Before beta 5-1, there was always the username in cleartext inbetween the two "><".
