Front page | Selected Topics Only | images

When you use "selected topics only" for the front page, is it possible to display more of the post? such as the users avatar and the image that was in the post?

At the bottom of the FrontPage settings, "Number of characters to display per forum-post:" will allow you to display more characters.  I haven't done much testing on showing Avatars, so I can't answer this right now.  If you test it, let us know the results.

As for showing an image, you can show an image that is actually attached to a post by using "Use first post attachment preview as illustration?" and selecting category layout #4 ( Picture + Article).

I would encourage you to do a little experimentation with the settings to get just the right look.

Oh thanks. I was clicking on every option I could, trying to see the various layouts but i couldnt find a way.. I did accidentally find other cool features though that were impressive...   I'll try what you said when i get back home. thanks again.

OK,  Thanks, I got the images on there.  Too bad there isnt a 'Read more' link on selected front page posts...   so that people know that there actually is more to it.

As far as avatars. I still couldnt find a way to have them on the selected posts on frontpage, but I dont even want that now.. it would take up too much room.
