Sorry not yet lazer16 its still in the testing stages, and we cant give a time frame when it will be ready!

Wouldn't it be wise and friendly to draw a line in the development for this stage of the beta of Tiny Portal so as to please the many that have waited so long for it?  I know I know diddly squat and can only assume, but it seems to me beta 5 is growing.  If I am wrong just forgive my presumptuousness, it is just the ramblings of an old, old school guy.

Ken.

You're not wrong swampy, but there's a little more to it than that.

Bloc and those of us on the TP Team want to get this release out just as much as the membership is wanting to see it, but at the same time we are striving to have it as error free as possible so as to not disrupt anyone's site when they install it.

It will be soon.  :)

Interesting choice of words, no doubt, especially when we are trying our best to be as good natured as possible when answering questions about beta 5. :D

FWIW, just to give you an idea of the process, there has been very little in the way of additional development of new features since the end of last year.  Granted, a few things have been added but they are mostly things that don't really require any testing.  For instance, a switch to allow an Admin to decide whether to redirect to the FrontPage or to the Forum upon Login/Logout (one of my suggestions) was an easy addition that didn't even require much testing and also didn't take Bloc very long to write in.

Most of what we have been doing is squashing bugs, again very little additional development.  Since January 15th, barely 2 months ago, there have been 7 Alphas released to the Team with very few new features added, only bug fixes.  The result is that, when beta 5 comes out, it will be nearly bug free, or as bug free as a new version can be.  A lot of hours have gone into the testing of this version, primarily because the same upgrade will not only work with SMF 1.1.11 and SMF 2.0 RC2, but SMF 2.0 RC3 as well.  Of course we expect that users will find a few new bugs that we have missed, but it shouldn't be anything major.
