Looking for an opinion

TP 1.0 beta4
SMF Arcade 2.0.15
+ assorted other mods.

I'm getting the noted error:

8: Undefined index: smileys_enabled
File: /home/icefishi/public_html/forum/Sources/TPmodules.php
Line: 1758

I did the fix to TPmodules.php smiliesEnabled this caused the Quick Search in my Arcade to cease functioning. I like the quick search feature so I went back to the old error generating TPmodules.php file. My question is, in your opinion is there any harm in letting the smilies_enabled error just continue? I can clear the error log of them every day or so. At the rate it is throwing them off I would have 5 or 6 dozen a day.
