Hi !

I just upgraded from 1.1.9 to 1.1.10 SMF and lost my TP page and admin.  I posted a similar post at SMF.. Not sure who to turn to but I want my TP page back.  Rendzevous theme is still rockin but without the TP.

Any suggestions?

Michele,

This actually doesn't make sense, unless you somehow applied the full install of SMF 1.1.10 over the 1.1.9 install and wiped out all of your SMF Mods in the process.  What you describe could very well happen if you did a full install of SMF instead of an upgrade.

Please Read and Follow the Posting Guidelines, giving us all the info requested at the bottom of the topic, including what version of TP you had installed before and a link to your site so that we can see it.  Also, please check your package manager and see if it still says that TP is installed.

Or it could happen if you uploaded the large upgrade package to upgrade. If so, you'll need to re-apply the mod.

It is now SMF version 1.1.10 ... before that it was 1.1.9
TP version:I downloaded the TP Rendevous 1 month ago.. I can't find documentation
Browser Name and Version: Firefox 3.0.13
Related Error messages:none
Mods installed:

I did not upgrade the large version of SMF   I used small one.
I suppose I lost TP because of user error when I upgraded manually.

I had to do a manual upgrade with SMF because the usual uploading to the package manager wasn't working.  There may be a chance I dragged an index.php to the wrong folder or accidentally made a similar mistake.

How do I reapply the mod?  I only have an older .983 TP mod in my list of packages and I believe that one was installed a year or so prior to my new Rendezvous theme.

I'm looking for it now, but I don't think I have the Mod on my computer.
I did all the forum backups before this SMF upgrade but when I open these files I don't see how they will help.

If you cant run the tp package through the package manager you can install manually.

Here is what you need.

And how to work with it.

I would like to try to run the tp package through the package manager before trying these other options.  Can I download the tp here on this site?  Does it matter what theme I have?  Apparently I am missing a basic understanding of how all of this fits together.  Thank you for your patience.

All Mods for SMF, including TinyPortal, should always be installed with your forum set to the SMF Core Default theme.
TP is installed using the SMF package manager, but if that fails for some reason you may need to do a manual install.
Lots of good info can be found in the TP Docs boards that will help you in using TP.

EDIT: You can also find a very good description of what TP will add to your SMF forum at this link:

Thank you for your suggestions.  .... I uploaded the beta 4 (is it really beta?) TP and installed it with a warning not to.  I overlooked this because it was looking for an index.template file from a theme I deleted over a year ago.

The new TP has a bigger font but it seems to be working alright.

I only have one question then I'll close this thread.  Does someone think that I lost my TP when upgrading SMF due to the fact that I didn't have the forum in the default theme or something else?

If you had to upload SMF files, then it is most likely that those files replaced one of your previously edited files by TP. If you can't update via the package manager, you are probably better off uninstalling your mods, then upgrading SMF, then reinstalling. AT least, that is the way I would do it if I couldn't update via the package manager.

OK Thank you everyone.
I can close this now.. I'll look for the icon
Peace!
