Related Error messages: none of which I am aware...I do see a lot of these though:
"2: Illegal offset type in isset or empty
File: /usr/www/loc/public_html/forum/Sources/TPmodules.php
Line: 1994"
I doubt that's related to this issue though.
TPShout version:101

I have a bunch of smileys installed, so I utilize the pop-up option so that in order to see all the extra smileys users have to click "more" when creating a post.  The problem is that if you click "more" and then click a smiley to insert into a message it goes into the shoutbox instead!  However, if I disable the smileys inside the shoutbox, it works fine.  This issue was brought up a while back in this forum: http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,24633.0.html, but it doesn't seem to have been resolved.  I've done a little bit of searching, but to no avail.  Any ideas?

Hello Fëanor,

Welcome to TinyPortal.

Your post was split from this topic ...
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,24633.0.html

It's been over a year since someone posted in that topic, and probably whatever issues that were in existence back then have long been solved with newer versions of either SMF or TinyPortal.  For that reason, I am going to split your post out to a new topic and include a link to the topic your originally posted in.  That way we can start fresh if it is still an issue.

When you read this, could you Please Read and Follow the Posting Guidelines, and edit the information requested at the bottom of that topic into your first post so that we will know what versions of SMF and TP we are talking about here and be able to provide quicker support.

Thanks,
ZarPrime

Oh whoops.  I saw the last post was July, but I didn't notice it was 2008, not 2009!  Sorry for necro-posting.
Anyway, if the issue has been resolved I haven't been able to figure out how.  :(

ZarPrime

Well, I don't know if it was ever resolved or not, but we can't help unless we know more about your site.  The link to the Posting Guidelines that I noted in my first post above has a template that you need to include in your OP of this topic.  Besides the information requested about the versions of SMF and TP you are using and a link to your site, please be sure to tell us what other SMF Mods you have installed and what version of the TP Shoutbox you are using along with any errors in your Forum error log.

This will keep us from guessing and is really the only way we will be able to help.

OK, thanks.

First, I assume you are using the TP Simple Shoutbox and not the Advanced Shoutbox, correct?

Second, could you please switch to the SMF default theme (theme=1) and try to duplicate this behavior while using that theme.  At the same time, please try switching your site to use the default or classic smiley set and see if it happens.

I can't duplicate this on my test site so I am going to alert Ichbin to this topic as well since he was somewhat involved in the old topic.  He may recall what was decided back then.  I don't know when he will be back on so try the things I mentioned above and let us know what happens.

EDIT:  Now that I look in the bugtracker, I see that this has been an ongoing issue for awhile that was supposed to be fixed in beta 4, but if it's not fixed, then I think maybe I need to get Bloc to take a look at this topic as well.  The 2 bugs shown below are the same issue, but both are marked closed so I don't know what to think about it right now ...
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=bugtracker;sa=bug406
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=bugtracker;sa=bug397

Obviously, the reason I can't duplicate it on my test site is that I don't have any extra smileys installed.  I will post this on the Team Board.

2nd Edit:  Not solved, so I will remove the solved icon in the OP.

Fëanor

When I first noticed this bug I had the default theme in effect.  I didn't change my theme until afterwards, so that's not the problem.  Also, I am using the default smiley set.  I just added a bunch of smileys to the set as well.

ZarPrime

Did you notice the edits in my last post?  This is a bug in TP and Bloc will need to look at this issue.

Fëanor

Yes, I did. I just thought I'd answer your questions anyway. ;)
Thanks for looking into this!
