300 Characters Limit for Articles in FrontPage

Good Day...

This is my first querry for TinyPortal...

My problem is i want to show only 300 characters limit for the article in FrontPage but i don't know how to do it. I checked all the possible settings related to articles and categories but out of luck.

Can you please direct to the appropriate section related to my above queries.

I'd love to know how you did this, I have searched but without much luck.  I love the articles feature and would like to have introductions on the home page as the intro text in articles seem to show my parkup so I have <p>
 <h1> etc mingled with my text.

Please share your resolution.

In the articles you can use the intro to only show a certain amount of characters.

Hoefully I'm not hijacking this topic I'm sure you'll tell me if I am.  The issue I have with the intro text (I'm on 1.19 an beta 4) is that it dispay's all the html tags in the text and also the article stats...

willcom, in the next beta these layout issues will be resolved.

Though currently the visual options use only 1 set per article, so the options you set in the main article, is also used in the listing/introtext. However, it might be desireable to use ANOTHER set of options when intro/listing is used, so I will build that in.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  The articles is such a great feature, I tried another simple portal and didn't like how they used a board to get articles from  so so TP won me over on that.

You may want to consider the second options to be 'front page display options'?

I found the code on this post http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,3320.msg213204.html#msg213204 useful and so have it on my homepage for now, the formatting is a little better than the standard TP.
