Can't seem to use the bug report. I get a "database error."

IchBin

Generally you shouldn't be adding a bug report unless you've posted for support and confirmed it's a bug for others as well. Why not post your support question like I asked on your last post?

DocPixel

Since you moved my question to the support forum, I've replied to that one with the info from the posting guidelines. That last bugtracker post was done before I saw your post about it.

I get that I shouldn't have used the bugtracker. I messed up, I apologize again. I haven't been here for awhile, so I just got excited about the bug tracker.

DocPixel,

It's not that you shouldn't use the bugtracker.  It's just that you should not post in the bugtracker until someone asks you to do so, as Ichbin suggested.  What is more powerful is the ability to search the bugtracker.  Had you done that, you would have found that your bug has already been reported.  See my post in your other topic.

Thanks, Zarprime, I saw your other post and it's helpful. It looks like I need to upgrade to beta 5.

I think the bugtracker is a great idea. I might respectfully suggest some guidelines right above the tracker? I'm sure they are posted elsewhere, but I just landed on that page and went for it.

As I tell my friends, I find the TP support far better than most open source support. :)

DocPixel,

Well, of course, you'll have to wait until beta 5 is available to everyone.  Until then, you'll just have to get along without the ability, or make the edit that freddy suggested in that bug report and hope that fixes the issue.

Anyway, the bugtracker serves a very useful purpose if people use it properly.  That's not to say that every error that someone finds is going to be a bug, but you will find that most genuine bugs in the software have indeed already been reported.  A search of not only the support boards but the bugtracker will usually find that these problems have already been reported.

Happy Holidays.
