When a user goes to submit an article (HTML) the form
shows a section for the Image Quick list.  There is the
browse button there, and one can select an image but then
nothing happens and there appears to be no way for the
form to actually upload the image.  Clicking on SAVE (which I
found uploads the image if you are an admin) submits the
article for approval only and does nothing about uploading
the image.

This renders the Image QUick list useless.

I hope that makes sense.

I have deleted the other topics as requested. Another support member may have an answer for your other submitted bugs.

I tried this image upload this morning and it uploaded the image and inserted it into the article just fine for me. Could this possibly be a permissions issue on his server?

Does this topic help at all?

Yeah well it's the same problem but I tried changing the URL to :

http://localhost/forum1/index.php?action=tpmod;sa=addarticle

as he did, but that just gets 'Unable to load the 'main' template.' error.

The thing is this feature works fine if you are an admin but it doesn't appear to work for a regular user with permissions to make articles.

So yes, clicking SAVE when you are admin works fine - the image appears on the quicklist...

BUT, if you only have permissions to submit articles pressing SAVE only submits the whole article for approval - so you lose the ability to add images to the quick list as the whole thing is then submitted - ie you don't go back to editing it.

I hope I have explained that ok and thanks for removing my other posts.

Renegd, I will look at the permissions again, but they all seem to make sense so far.

Okay did a bit more tampering.

It seems to me that most of the problems I have reported work okay if the user ( ie non admin) is given permission to Manage Articles.

But the problems persist if the user does not have this permission.  So it seems there are bugs in there.  If anyone wants to test this I suggest you try it out with a user without having permission to manage articles, then you should see the problems I have encountered.

Of course it's probably still going to be desirable to limit some users to only submissions, so I still consider it a bug.

An old error this one, but also fixed now. I have made it such that if the user cannot edit their own articles, they won't see the quicklist either. While if they can edit, they will see it and pictures will be uploaded as normal.

In addition theres a link to "My articles" in userbox now and from dropdown menu(in SMF 2.0 RC2)
