I am attempting to install TP onto a fresh install of SMF 1.1.8.  The only addon is the convert php to SMF you need to load up for conversion.  No other mods, addons, styles have been installed.  I get the two typical errors:

QuoteInstalling this package will perform the following actions:
   Type    Action    Description
1.    Extract Tree    ./Themes
2.    Extract Tree    ./Sources
3.    Extract Tree    ./tp-downloads
4.    Extract Tree    ./tp-images
5.    Extract Tree    ./tp-files
6.    Execute Code    tp_install.php
7.    Execute Modification    ./index.php    Test successful
8.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Load.php    Test successful
9.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/index.template.php    Test failed
10.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/babylon/index.template.php    Test successful
11.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs.php    Test successful
12.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php    Test successful
13.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Security.php    Test successful
14.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Errors.php    Test successful
15.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/Help.template.php    Test failed
16.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Profile.php    Test successful
17.    Execute Modification    ./SSI.php    Test successful
18.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/BoardIndex.php    Test successful
19.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/QueryString.php    Test successful
20.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs-Post.php    Test successful
21.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Admin.php    Test successful

So, I completed installation and manually edited both index.template.php and help.template.php according to http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,14195.html

Now, for my question/confusion... Both files had the changes already made. I check full coding via DreamWeaver, and everything matched up to the Mod instructions.  Forum wise, everything works, except the front page is basically blank, none of the tables as it should.

I've gone through an manually installed and edited everything, though I ended up with quite a few errors, which I am 100% sure were because of errors I made.

I've searched and read through everything I can find on the forums here for what to do.  Every suggested fix either doesn't pertain to my installation, or the suggested fix didn't work or made things worse.

Thank you in advance for any help or assistance!

I loaded it again, made no changes, and it looks to be working this time.  Guess fifth time's a charm!   The only issue now is there are two links next to each other that say Forums.  Any ideas on how to get rid of one of them?

Ken.

You have duplicate code for the Forum button... check your index.template.php and remove the extra code.

If you are not sure about the forum button, post your index.template.php here and I or someone will edit for you.
