The version numbers should also be updated yes, but thats not what translates the text strings.
Beta3 package from the download section are for Beta3 regardless the version number inside the files.

Ok - I understand...

And now I tried to switch to GERMAN (NOT German_informal) and: I could see all links in the menu... I copied all files again, renamed them to German_informal - and: everything is ok...

Maybe it was really my fault and I forgot to rename one file from German to German_informal...  Sorry....

But another thing I found:
I downloaded the German ISO-file, but when I open the files it says:

// German-utf8 V. 1.0 by SeKa

and this: gültig is UTF8 and not really ISO isn't it?? It must be gÜltig I think... Can this cause problems?

No, thats my fault MsMudia. Sorry about, i have signed a string over the translated files, so everybody knows who ist to contact for feedback or issues. I forgot only to change that during copy&paste. The strings are ok, and what it should be.
