Hi

is there any way to prevent normal users from reading specific articles and make the articles available only to a specific member type?

thank you

Yes.

I can't give you more information unless I know more about your setup.

There's a huge difference in the permissions for reading articles between TP 0.9.8 and the current version.

The only way you can do it with 0.9.8 is to make it a php article which will then test for the user's group. In version 1.0.3, you can set articles to be viewable by group the same as you can with blocks. There are other issues with 1.0.3 at the moment, though, so you might want to wait until a more stable version.
