Hi I'm have a brand new install of SMF 1.1.8  with TinyPortal v1.0 beta 3. The database was loaded from an existing forum and it all has been moved to a new server and is up and running smoothly. Back in October 08 I stumbled on some instructions for making your TP front page the page that opens up by default when ever someone logs on or visits your site. I applied these changes to a different forum and it worked just as desired. I should have bookmarked or saved the process but did not. Can anyone point me to these instructions or post the procedure for me. I have tried searching it several ways but it is buried among hundreds of posts with homepage or front page in them. I promise I will save it this time.
Thanks for any help or clues.

Have you tried using a single TP article for your home page Dave?
Many use this approach and it works well, mine is HERE for an example.

I didn't try that as it is not what I'm trying to accomplish. I do have an article on front page display from time to time. However, my presentation uses TP as the front page of a newspaper or magazine would with pull outs, features photos and captions. Lots of small blocks with weather and other outdoors/fishing relates info. SMF wants to display the forum first by default and TP goes along with that. There is a way to command smf to display the TP front page on opening. That is what I'm looking for but thanks for the suggestion.

If I may ask an additional question on this. I have just installed TP 1.0 beta 3 on new install smf 1.1.8 with the same problem with log on.

1. The code changes at login/shoutbox do not appear in my TPshout.php
2. I do not use TP shoutbox

Logon always goes direct to the smf forum no matter what I have set in Home/frontpage settings

Did you try the changes in the Sources/Subs.php file?

Rafferty

Yes thank you very much that did fix it
