do not buy asus products!

i just recieved my third defective ASUS motherboard in a row. people, please take my advice on this: ASUS products will only cost you immense amounts of time and money to get a working one. don't make the mistake of ordering one now, because i know they used to be the top of the line. their customer support has gone to hell, and thanks to them, i'm stuck ANOTHER WEEK without a computer of my own. i called their tech support, and the agents pick up the phone and answer "yeah?". if you want to save your own sanity next time you build a computer, go with abit or gigabyte or MSI. it would be very sad to see another person forced to own one of these horrible products because the warranty is only 30 days.

Thats a bummer. I hate it when a peice of hardware turns up DOA. But THREE is a bit much. You must have got a bad batch i think.

Which board is it ? it's allready wellknown that some of the ASUS boards have problems with specific Extensions Cards

its a P5N32-SLI DELUXE.

its not a problem with a PCI card, because it won't boot even if i have no pci cards in the board. all u need is a ramstick , processor, and pwr to get the fans at least spinning. it looks to me like a short, because the capacitors discharge and all the fans spin for about 1 second and stop when i push the pwr button. the last one had a broken pci-e 16x slot, and the previous one would boot with a black screen.... its insane. it's been too long now to ask for a refund, so i have to keep doing exchanges... i really hope that they give me a good one some time.

I have a 4 year old ASUS board, never any trouble. But you never know... Lets hope you get a good one now.

as i've said, the company has changed. my last asus board about 5 years ago was EXCELLENT. that's why i bought from then again. it's easy to see that they have let themselves slide ALOT. very sad that the former top-of-the-line is now almost as bad at making motherboards as intel...
