Hi, well... i have this problem, i have my smf installed on a directory on my hosting, so the url is subarashiki.com/forum and i'd like to know how could i make the url be just subarashiki.com i tried with the option that is in core configuration, and it crashed, i had to install everything again
can someone help me?

All you have to do is move everything from your forum folder, to the root folder. Then download and run the repair_settings.php file from SMF. You hit that file by going to www.yourdomain.com/repair_settings.php

You then can fix that paths that were set previously to "forum". That should be all you need to do.

Yes... i knew i could do that, but i'd prefer not to have the installation on root, isn't there another way?
Thanks for help

You want the URL to be the root, but you don't want the installation to be there? Oh-kay.

You can check with your server admin and see about redirecting. Or you can put a flash screen up in your root directory to annoy people and then redirect to the forum. (Sorry. My hatred of flash screens just came out.) Or you can put up an html page with a link -- "Click here to go to the forum".

But pretty much your URL is reflective of where your files are. The easiest way to get the URL you want is to put the files in the place that corresponds to that URL.
