to explain my situation a bit better. i want to use this code in tp but not as usual block. i have this block /tabbed content block) http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=6100.0
on my mainpage and i want to include the top 10 posters cloud there. i thought that it would be the easiest to include the cloud as an external php but if there is a better way, i would be happy if you tell me.

Give it a try. If that's how it works best, that's fine. If you're working within TP, then I don't have any objection at all.

My code will work anywhere on the server where your database is. Or, at least it should work. As I say, I didn't try it out. J.A. Cortina's code will also work. Experiment. See what works best for you. There is very rarely only one way to do something.

-edit- could you tell me some basics so i can learn how to modify blocks like this that they will work as external php file? i want to add something like recent posts and such to that tabbed content,too
