Hi,

I'm new with TP and SMF, and struggling with an RSS block. The feed I want displays articles etc fine, but doesn't output a feed image, so I get a placeholder instead. Is there a way to turn off the feed image display? Which file in TP/SMF controls this?

I'm using TP 0.98 and SMF 1.1.4 - both clean installs.

Thanks,

Martin.

TP does not control the actual RSS Feed. That would be the RSS feed itself. It can be controlled by third party scripts etc. Take a search around here as I know its been covered many times already.

I've used Google's AJAX Feed API to customize what is received, but it requires some reading to do so. It is easy to use and requires a free API key.

Oh yeah - link is http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxfeeds/documentation

Thanks guys, I'll give Google a go.

I've searched the forum for this by using "image rss feed"; "picture rss feed"; etc If it has been talked about it is not showing in the 2 pages of results.

I get the same placeholder in the upper left of the rss feedbox prior to the feed info being output. This happens in all feeds. I tried right clicking the placeholder to find what image it is so I could maybe edit it or move one into its position but it simply provides my url. Its annoying since the placeholder is 28x32 and really stands out.

SMF 1.1.7
TP beta

Thanks.

Would be great if you started your own topic. This way things wouldn't get confused in another persons topic, and it makes it easier to keep track of who's doing what. Right now, I have no idea what you're talking about. Please start your own topic, and provide a link so we can see what you're talking about.

If I started my own topic I would likely be scolded for not searching or posting in this one...

How did I not explain the issue completely? Upper left corner of RSS Feed block...image placeholder with no value when right clicked...versions provided

So many rules and sarcasm and not enough help. Nevermind

IchBin

Where was there sarcasm? I asked you politely to start your own topic. WE have guidelines here. THere is a reason we have asked so many to follow them. If you don't want to do what is suggested here on our site then why should we help? Topic locked.
