1.0.6 Beta 2 upgrade - forum posts on front page wrong

Related Error messages: various, not sure if related. 

I'm sorry to bother again, but I have a problem with my live site now.  I was running smf 1.1.2 w/TP 0.9.8.3 (I think).  So I did a "large upgrade" deleted all my mods from the package manager, and then installed TP 1.0.6 Beta 2. 

Everything seems to be working except:
1. the panels won't show on the front page and edit: panels are showing on front page
2.  the forum posts on the front page are showing up in the "B" format even though I have the "A" format selected. 

Forum is in maintenance mode right now and I really want to get this all sorted out before morning (currently 1:22 am EST).  If a support specialist would like, I can create an admin account so you can take a look around.  I'm also willing to pay via paypal if the problem is a big one.  I'm guessing I have leftover TP files or something?    Thank you for your help.

EDIT:  NEVERMIND, I'M AN IDIOT.  I GUESS THAT'S HOW FORUM POSTS (AS OPPOSED TO ARTICLES) ARE DISPLAYED.
