Can't edit content of html/bbc boxes

Hi - I'm back.

I solved my previous theme problem (right block misaligned) by removing the boardindex.template.php, the display.template.php and the messageindex.template.php. I did this on advice of the SMF support forum.  Everything seemed to work fine at first.

But now, (in admin mode,) I can't edit the contents of any bbc/htmlbox. I can't edit an existing one and if I create a new one it doesn't show the content edit box. I've attached a screenshot of what does display.

Is this because of the removed php files?
