It appears the admin link in the main menu shows to guests without permissions if the frontpage setting to show guest news is turned on.

I haven't confirmed this. I wanted to put it in the bugtracker because I didn't want to forget to check this since I don't have time to at this moment. :)

just an FYI...

TP: TP105beta2rev87
SMF 1.1.5

I don't see the problem in either the Default (SMF Core theme) nor Cerberus theme as described.  Something particular with SMF 1.1.1  perhaps...  Also, is it really TP 1.0.5 beta 1? or is it beta 2 that says its beta 1?  hehe

IchBin

Its actually in SMF 1.1.5 but there's no option to to choose that version of SMF in the bugtracker. :)

And yes, it is beta1.

ah... well, then maybe beta2 fixed it.  I just tried Babylon theme as well with no issue either.
What theme did you see it under?  I'll throw that theme up and test it on beta 2 rev 87 (haven't installed rev 101 yet, but tomorrow)

Lucutious

I believe IchBin was referring to my issue that I fixed.

The problem isn't that the Admin link shows to guests, it's that the theme doesn't properly incorporate all the permissions in the admin panel.

Theme:  FSGrey
TP Version: 1.0.5 Beta1
SMF Version: 1.1.5

I had, for some reason, granted the permission "Can read TP news" to guests, and a couple other membergroups.  When I was in the FS Grey theme, I looked at the permission and even though SMF reported guests had 1 permission, there was nothing "checked" in the permissions screen.  Then, I swapped to default and saw that they had the "Can Read TP news" permission.  Once I removed that permission, the admin links went away.

Unless I am not understanding something correctly, this is not a TP or SMF error, it's a problem with the theme - or perhaps TP didn't install to the theme correctly, as in it didn't add those permission boxes to the right templates.  I'm not sure how all that works, but hopefully you all understand what I'm trying to say.

IchBin

So the permissions to read TP news as guest shouldn't be theme related. There are no permissions added to a theme. That is all controlled through other methods, and should not be theme related.
