Upgraded from SMF 1.1.x / TP 0.9.8 to SMF 2.0 RC5 / TP 1.0 RC1 - Shout Qustion.

I know the shoutboxes are signifigantly different between the 0.9.8 branch of TP and the 1.0 branch but here's my question. Did I lose all previous shouts or can I get a new shoutbox but able to show all of my existing / old shouts etc with the same settings.

Ok, well this is a really stupid question then but I'm new to the whole 2.0 scene as well as the whle TP 1.0 scene, one of the biggest drawback that kept me from upgrading in the past was all the changes. Anyway, that aside... how do I get my SB back sincew my old SB block from 1.1 is blank now on my 2.0 site eojmarket.com ?

Edit: I figured it out but two things.

1. The text in the thought bubbles is white so you can't read anything.

2. This will probably solved one but the shout display, is there any way to make it take on a traditional 0.9.8 look while keeping the other stuff for smilies and text manipulation ?

Ps; Whats th point of having Show 50 latest about the shout button if the system already shows the 50 most recent shouts ?

That is a theme problem. It doesn't happen in the default theme. Most of your questions have already been asked. Please use the search as it keeps us from having to answer the same questions over and over. Searching for shoutbox text brought up a few topics that dealt with both your #1 and #2 questions. The latest 50 shouts is not displayed by default, and I think most people don't show 50 shouts anyway. So it's a good default to have even though you are the exception to it.

Thx, but the stickies I see are for changing bubble colors and avatar removal. What I mean't in regards to number two was making it look like this as in 0.9.8.

Mind you just the shout display asopect of 0.9.8 as seen in the pic.

You'd have to manually go into the template code (and probably langauge file) and find the instance of the text for that, then go into the source code and find the query and change it as well. Everything should be in the shout files for you to find.
Themes/default/TPShout.template.php and TPShout.css.(for html and css edits)
Themes/default/languages/TPShout.english.php (for the text strings)
tp-files/tp-modules/TPShout/Sources/TPShout.php (for the query)

As for the shout bubble, while those aren't the exact edits you make, those are still the same places you need to edit to make things look the way you want. Did you try removing the background attributes? Did you try changing anything in them?

I'd highly suggest you download and install the firebug addon for firefox and learn how to use it considering how much stuff you are asking for us to do here for you. I have no problem helping when people get stuck. But I firmly believe in teaching a man to fish to feed him for a life time, rather than just feeding him the fish.

I can and did fish as seen on my site right now ;-)

I even went as far as to edit the arrow image so I didnt have a white nipple on the bubble.

Ps; I almost do always try things on my own before seeking help.
