FTP user specs for TP 1.0.5

We have struggled yesterday with a TP installation on a fresh 1.1.5 SMF installation. Finally we figured it out ... the FTP user must go straight to the root of the forum otherwise TP does not Install properly.

In our environment we run a number of forums on the same server and the FTP user that we set up for installations comes in on the level where it can see all the forums and then has to step down one level into the correct forum ... TP Install does not like that.

We have created a FTP user that now points directly into the root of each forum and the Install works if you use this "home" FTP user.

Hope this solves some of the problems with Installs.

This is probably the package manager not installing TP or other mods unless this is done? Or is it just for TP alone?

Hmmmm ... I am not sure ... I thought it was better to do TP first before anything else. So you might be right.
