TP Shoutbox - Messages are being used by Google for description

Hi,

if you do site:www.maltafishingforum.com/talk I am seeing that Google is using the latest text from the shoutbox to provide a page description under the various topics it's indexing.

Is there any way to prevent this?

You'll have to create a custom robots.txt to disallow them to index certain content. I would google that to find out how.

Thanks for your reply. Am familar with using robots.txt to prevent access to certain areas. Just not entirely sure how to block access to the shoutbox content, as if I prevent accesss to index.php which I believe is the portal front end, would that not block access as well to the forum index.php?action=forum
