I have run a SMF/TP combo for a long time, not a newbie.  Usually I can figure things out but this one has me stumped.

I had to do a rebuild, this included moving SMF from the root to it's own dir.  /public_html/smf

I install smf and it all goes fine, no problems.  Then installed the theme WEB2_11 and it installs fine.  I have made sure the permissions are set to writeable to all themes.

I thing try to install tiny portal and on first attempt I get the following.

Fatal error: packageinstall() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/tvgrapev/public_html/smf/Packages/temp/./tp_install.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/tvgrapev/public_html/smf/Sources/Packages.php on line 552

So I create a folder in packages called temp and make it writeable.

At this point I try to install TP again,  all seems to go fine.  I get the following.

Upshrink table exists
Settings table exists
Updated version to 098
Blocks table exists
Changed pos in blocks table
Changed pos in blocks table
Variables table exists
Changed value5 in variables table
Articles table exists
Updated body in articles table
DL manager table exists
Shoutbox table exists
UTF-8 setting is found.
Converted articles table for utf-8
Converted settings table for utf-8
Converted blocks table for utf-8
Converted variables table for utf-8
Converted dlmanager table for utf-8
TinyPortals table structure is now installed/updated.

Thank you for trying out TinyPortal.

How ever no TP is installed and I have the following at top of the site:

You have turned on theme support for TinyPortal, but the mod itself is NOT installed!

I check for the TP options menu and it does not exist.  Indeed TP did not install.

Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Ken.

Sounds like the install process may not have made the required edits to your SMF files.

Take a look at the file edits listed on the page below and compare those to the files on your server to see if they are missing... if so then you'll need to do the edits manually.

Ken.

Same advice applies seeker365.

And this subject has been covered many, many times... reading the Installation Board Sticky's and the Docs section will give you the answers you need.
The search function works well too.  ;)

I had the same problem and just defaulted to the smf core theme, then everything installed 100%

PREFECT!!!!  You wrote it for me ;)  Never EVER install any mod, especially TP with another theme set as your forum Default then the Core theme.
