Installation Error

I'm brand new to SMF and generally hosting sites so could someone walk me through how to fix this error and get TP installed correctly?

I've downloaded the .zip file and tried to upload it to package manager, but it refuses it each time. I get this error:

"The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted."

What can I do to make it run correctly?

If you'd like to be a big help to us, you could provide us with the necessary information to help you. I have some posting guidelines in my sig, and they are stickied at the top of the support board. After you've done that answer these questions as well.

1. Does this happen with all packages?
2. Have you tried simplemachines suggestions in the package manager docs or sticky posts in the support boards?

Sorry about not giving you guys the right information. I deleted the TP files and downloaded a new set this afternoon experimentally, and it installed and is up and running like a dream. I don't know what went wrong the first time I tried, but it's working great now.
