Hello, sorry if I am posting something where the answer is already but I searched and found the same question, but not the solution I need to my problem. I feel it may be easier to ask.

I installed TinyPortal the normal way and also tried the manual way. The normal install goes off without any problems, all tests successful, and I can see the results on the main page. I can't edit any of it though, which is weird because all the files are there and installed. I simply cannot see the administration panel.

This is what my control panel looks like:

I have my language settings on "english."

1. Website URL: http://www.bpresource.com

2. I'm getting no error messages. I simply cannot see any user control panels to update tinyportal settings.

3. Using the default theme when you install SMF, simply with CSS changes. Running on SMF 1.1.4

4. I have no mods installed.

Thanks for any help in advance. :)

From the image i see that you dont have the Default Core theme installed, how does things look with the default theme ?

Also also see that it looks like you missing out on files even if you say they are there, normally it's just the test that are missing, not the entire admin section for TP.

Manuall install means 3 step.

1. Upload all the files manually through FTP tp your forum folder.
2. Manually add the code edits to the SMF files with the help of the modinstruction in the doc section
3. Point the browser to the manual_tp_install.php so the database install the tables for TP

Hey thanks for replying,

I found the problem after hours of searching.... It was a dumb thing. The account I use to modify the forums is an admin account, but not the original admin account. Once I logged into my "admin" account everything was fine.

But thanks for the possible answers, its always the last most dumb thing that is the fix to it all. I went through my database, core files and re-installed tons of times... to only realize it was the account I was using. Maybe you'll want to include this in some sort of FAQ, because its definitely something some people may not realize.

Thanks

They do have this info on simplemachines.org ;)  The package manager and what to fail search for when mods dont work have a full section information over there :D

Im glad you sorted it out though, and at the same time, i know you know a lot more about the code now as you been fiddling with it a lot  :D
