Hi all,
After a lot of messing about I finally managed to remove the TP information page and replace it with an article.
However, the title/heading shows but where is the body [with the actual article text] ?
This is the 9th article I've done now that has just disappeared into thin air.
Very strange . . .

Jon

It's a bug that some get to see and some dont.
You simply need to REMOVE both the premade article, the article headline and the article category in order to get the articles of your own to work.
You cant just change whats there, you need to make all new ( Category, Article Headline, and article content) so remove everything premade articles and start with all brand new.

Hi G6,
Trust me to be the one to get the bug, typical !

Thankyou so much for your reply, if I could just ask one last question ?
Is there any safe way to remove the originals or is it just a delete job ?
[I don't want to remove anything in error, I've already pulled most of my hair out getting the frontpage this far . . .]

Thanks once again, much appreciated.
Regards,
Jon  :-\

Go to Manage Articles and delete the Visual options A, Visual options B and Welcome! articles plus  Portal features Category

joncowcare

Hi Lesmond,
I've deleted all of them but still nothing is showing.
I do an article, preview it, all ok then save.
Click on the Home tab and all that's showing is the title.
When I go to the Articles manager the article I've just done is'nt even showing.
I'm completely mystified, and near to giving up.
I just don't know what to do next.
Thanks anyway,
Jon

How are you writing/editing the Article?

Using the built in WYSIWYG or the FCK Editor?

joncowcare

Hi ZTN,
The item that is selected in my Settings is the FCK Editor and I've not changed it.
Should I try one of the others then ?
Thanks,
Jon

Don't be afraid to try different settings in your TP. :) If you don't get this working, post back and I'll take a look when I get a moment.

Hi IchBin,
If you knew how long and how much time I have put into getting a bit of text and small picture onto my Frontpage you would think I was mad ! I have tried possibly every theme and variation thereof until finally by selecting neither of the wysiwyg editors I managed a small piece of text. [however, no formatting or picture possible, not even copy/paste]
I am part-disabled and this is a special project I had my heart set on completing, I guess there are just some things beyond me.
There are so many settings etc, that I just finish up confused.
I really would appreciate if you could take a look, I'm even willing to pay a donation if it is possible to get it how I want it ?!

Anyway, it's new years eve so I'm off to celebrate with a small glass of sherry [what a devil eh  . . . ?!]
Happy New Year to you all at TP, may 2008 bring us all a lot of happiness !
Thanks,
Jon  ;)

If you don't mind waiting a couple of days I can take a look. I'm out of town here until Thursday. I should be home on that day, so feel free to PM me between now and then. But please reference your topic here so I know who you are, and what you're talking about. :)
