If you take away the manage articles in Admin > Permissions > Select Member group. Then change in Admin > TinyPortal > Submissions which groups get to submit, They cannot do the things you are suggesting.

Thanks but then I don't have block that shows up so members can click on it and write and post an article.  I don't want to approve them.

Unless I am missing something which I could be.

Thanks again.

You can create a link like the one we have here to your left under Tools.

Unless you can't see it as a member:

<a href="http://www.URLREMOVED.com/index.php?action=tpmod;sa=submitarticle">Submit an Article!</a>

Actually yes you are missing something. The admin block will only show the links they have permission to see. If you take away the manage article permission the users will only see a "submit article" link in the admin block instead.

IchBin and Capitolpyro

Those two answers solved my problem.  The article delima was thinking I had to give them manage permissions to submit.  When I changed this all of a sudden "sumit article" popped up in the permissions block for guests.

Ya'll have no idea how long I have wrestled with this.

Thanks so much

Sorry but not resolved after all.  True there is a "submit article" link when you turn off manage article permission and slect let members submit.  But..................it allows them to SUBMIT and I still have to approve which I don't want to do.

So I still need help with this issue.  It's becomming clear that there is no default that I'm missing for this and has to have some workaround.

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

IchBin

That is not a feature yet. In TP 1.0 this is addressed however to allow users to edit their own. But to approve is an admin responsibility and not a user option.

I posted this last night but obviously it didn't post.  When I change permissions and allow submit by members, they can submit but I still have to approve.  I don't want to have to do that so any more ideas?  Maybe need a mod that's out there although I can't find one.

Thanks.

Oh thanks IchBin,

When I first pulled up this thread my last post and your last reply did not appear until I had posted again.  Disregard last post then and thanks.
