::)  ok I know.. I know.. your thinking not another one.

I know its around here somewhere. I want to upgrade/update TP but when I go into my admin Packages Tony portal is not there.

Now I spent 2 hours going through search to find update information and couldn't find it. Found a million answers  'use the search' or uninstal then instal.  But TP not even showing in my admin.

Right...what needs to be over wrote or how can I upgrade my TP.

Im worried my site is falling apart..I have not installed anything for ages and ages except SMF 1.1.4 now a couple of mods are not able to uninstal. SMF links don't work at all with out 1000 errors a day.

I'm not interested in ' Its a breeze'  answers..I've read that to many times without explaination of what to do.

Thank you.

I'm hoping it will fix this problem too...

Get a pen and paper and write this down for your future troubles. Anytime you update your SMF forum you run the chance of not having mods run properly (in your case the uninstall feature disappers). Why? Because inside the mods is an XML file with the install/uninstall/upgrade routines. In these routines there is version information telling SMF which version the mod will install with. So, if you have a mod that doesn't have the SMF 1.1.4 version information it will not show a uninstall link.  As has been said before (which you could have found in a search) :) you need to either update the package_info.xml file in the zipped package on your server, or just upload the new updated TinyPortal package.

So just upload and instal without doing anything else. I just had a look and TP is not even in my packages folder.. :idiot2:

Then you have probably deleted it. If TP is working, then you don't need to install right?

Polymath

I suppose so. But its not updated. I have a big gap on the right side of my site. And one oversized(width) block is not fully seen.

I give up. I went to the package parser(for maual instal) and it told me nothing.

Depending on what TP version you have, your best option is to upload the upgrade version of SMF, same as the one you are using, (thus overwriting any modifications) and THEN install TP again afterwards. It will simply use the data which is there already, the SMF upgrade won't wipe the TP data at all.

Don't forget to look in the Docs section here. We already have the manual install instructions.
